Riley, Nancy R., age 74, of N. State Rt. 2, New Martinsville, WV, died Saturday, July 17, 2010 in Wheeling Hospital.
She was born December 24, 1935 in New Martinsville, WV, the daughter of the late Finley and Mabel Riggenbach Ruth .
She was a retired water technician for the City of New Martinsville, a member of the New Martinsville Humane Society and a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in New Martinsville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, David Cozart.
Survivors include her husband of 22 years, David Riley; a son, Terry Cozart and his wife, Kathy of New Martinsville; a brother, Ronald Ruth of Girard, OH; a sister, Dorothy Downing and her husband, Roy of New Martinsville; and several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8pm at Grisell Funeral Home and Crematory, 751 Third Street, New Martinsville, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00am with Pastor Jayne Chafin officiating.
Interment in Northview Cemetery, New Martinsville.

Baker, Roger Lee
July 16, 2010

Baker, Roger Lee, age 66, of Roberts Ridge, Moundsville, died Friday, July 16, 2010, at Reynolds Memorial Hospital, Glen Dale.
He was born May 8, 1944 in Glen Dale, WV the son of the late Roy S. and Vaun I. Holmes Baker.
He was a farmer, a glass blower from the former Fostoria Glass Company, a meat cutter for Save-A-Lot, and a member of Cedar Avenue Church of Christ and the West Virginia Farm Bureau.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Charlene Leek Baker; a son, Joe Baker of Moundsville; three grandchildren, Justin Harry Baker at home, Bryce Joseph Baker, and Breanna Baker, both of Moundsville; a best friend, Roger (Lorraine) Hubbs of Moundsville; and a good friend, Tina Blake.
Family will receive friends Monday from 2-4 & 6-8pm and Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8pm at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Avenue, Moundsville, where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1pm.
Interment in Riverview Cemetery, Moundsville.

Higginbotham, Buster Lee
July 16, 2010

Higginbotham, Buster Lee, age 65 of Apple Street, New Martinsville, WV, died Friday, July 16, 2010 at his home.
He was born September 25, 1944 in Marion County, WV, the son of the late Ralph and Florence Yeater Higginbotham.
He was a retired truck driver with Solid Waste Services.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Peggy Cross and Jane Davis and two brothers, Bennie and Billy Higginbotham.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Piggott Higginbotham; two daughters, Paula Adams of Folsom, WV and Tracy Murphy of Chauncey, OH; a son, Tim Higginbotham of New Martinsville; five grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; and a sister, Pauline Higginbotham of Jacksonburg, WV.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2 until the time of the memorial service at 4pm at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 751 Third Street, New Martinsville with Ross Higginbotham officiating.

 
 
Hinton, Doris 'Sis' Foster
July 16, 2010

Hinton, Doris “Sis” Foster, age 64, of Bellaire, OH, died Friday, July 16, 2010 at the Country Club Retirement Center, Bellaire.
She was born August 21, 1945 in Wheeling, WV the daughter of the late Evston Elmer and Betty Jane Wilson.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Bellaire VFW and Eagles.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Foster; an infant son, Richard K. Foster; a brother, Ted Wilson; and a sister, Thelma “Toots” Riddle.
Survivors include two daughters, Connie Foster of Hillsboro, OH, Kristine Foster, of Bellaire; a son, William “Bill” (Judy) Foster, of Bellaire; a brother, David Wilson, of Greenville, SC; two sisters, Peggy Beddell of Shadyside, Julie Ray of Bellaire; a sister-in-law, Louann Wilson Stanley of Greenville, SC; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8pm at Grisell Funeral Home, 400 33rd Street, Bellaire, where funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00am with Rev. Jim Hoff officiating.
Interment in Holly Memorial Gardens, Colerain, OH.

 
 
Barrett, Catherine Howard
July 15, 2010

Barrett, Catherine Howard, age 98, of Glen Dale, WV died Thursday, July 15, 2010.
She was born September 24, 1911 in Moundsville.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in Moundsville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Raymond Barrett; a niece, Kay Barlow, two brother, and two sisters.
Survivors included a niece, Ruth Ann (Robert) Crow of Moundsville; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Family will receive friends on Saturday from 9am until time of service at 11am at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Ave., Moundsville with Rev. Raymond Yoho officiating.
Private interment in Fairview Cemetery, Moundsville.

Meeker, Jo Ann G.
July 13, 2010

Meeker, Jo Ann, age 83, of 7th St., Moundsville, died Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at Reynolds Memorial Hospital, Glen Dale.
She was born February 2, 1927 in Captina, WV the daughter of the late Clarence “Hop” and Elsie McHenry Goodrich.
She was a member of the First Christian Church, Moundsville for over 60 years having served as Treasurer, Trustee, on the Personnel and Finance Committees, and former choir member.
She was a graduate of Moundsville High School and took banking classes as well as some classes at West Liberty. She was retired from United Bank, formerly First National Bank, after 33 years of service.
She was a charter and still active member of Opus Music Club and the Eastern Star.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd B. Meeker, Jr.; a son, Michael Jay Meeker; and two brothers Roger and Robert Goodrich.
Jo Ann is survived by her two sons, Lloyd Bruce Meeker and his wife Beth of Virginia Beach, VA, James Ray Meeker and his wife Jo Ann E. of Glen Dale; seven grandchildren, Todd, Marci, Chris, John, Jennifer, Lance, and Cory; and five great-grandchildren, Logan, Molly, Ali, Mandi, and Scarlett.
Family will receive friends Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8pm at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Avenue, Moundsville, where services will be held Friday at 1:30pm with Rev. Mark Mills officiating.
Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery, Moundsville.

Marcum, Reather
July 13, 2010

Marcum, Reather, 64, of State Route 536, Clarington, Ohio, formerly of Elyria, Ohio, died Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at home.
He was born February 28, 1946 in Delbarton, WV, a son of the late Ireland and Nancy Ward Marcum, Sr.
He was a retired welder and heavy equipment operator for Ferro Slag in Lorain, Ohio; and a member of Woodsfield Praise Pentecostal Fellowship in Woodsfield, Ohio.
Reather enjoyed anything outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ireland Marcum, Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Wilda Vinson Marcum, whom he married on June 16, 1965; a son, Roger Marcum of Lorain, Ohio; a daughter, Nancy (Dan) Jarvis of Wilmington, NC; a brother, Charles Marcum of Lorain; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Family will receive friends on Thursday from 6-9pm and also on Friday from noon until time of funeral service at 1:00pm at Grisell Funeral Home, 125 Clarinda Drive, Clarington, Ohio, with Paul Ferguson officiating.

Wickersham, Charlotte
July 12, 2010

Wickersham, Charlotte, age 88, formerly of Moundsville, WV died Monday, July 12, 2010 in Shadyside Care Center, Shadyside, OH.
She was born December 11, 1921 in Rose Valley, Harrison County, OH the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Zomienski Stankiewicz.
She was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Lester Wickersham, II; a son, George Stanley Wickersham; two brothers, Stanley and George Stankiewicz; and four sisters, Elizabeth Zuleski, Estella Majewski, Edna Tadey, and Violet Campana.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary K. (Mark) Minor of Moundsville; two grandsons, Matthew (Laura) Minor of Ft. Mill, SC, and Craig Minor of Nashville, TN; two step-sons, Robert Wickersham of AZ, and Howard Wickersham of Nevada; two step-grandsons, David (Misty) Wickersham of CA, Mark (Cinda) Wickersham of OH, their mother, Barbara Wickersham of OH; and three step-great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday at 2pm at Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall, Ash Avenue, Moundsville, WV with Brother James Allen and Casey Pozell officiating.
Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Riverview Cemetery, Moundsville.

Gouldsberry, Robert
July 11, 2010

Gouldsberry, Robert W. “Bob”, age 79, of Moundsville, died Sunday, July 11, 2010 at home.
He was born on February 2, 1931 on Lynn Camp Run, Marshall County, the son of the late Francis R. and Thelma M Cunningham Gouldsberry.
Robert was employed at the Conduit prior to starting his own business, Gouldsberry Cabinet Shop, LC, which he operated with his children until his retirement.
He loved the game of golf and was declared a life member of the Moundsville Country Club in 2004. He also enjoyed spending time at his farm.
Robert served in the US Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Middle Grave Creek Church of God.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law Margaret and David Kidd; a mother-in-law Ada McCracken; and a son-in-law Terry Simmons.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years Betty J. Carter Gouldsberry; three children Cheryl A. (John) Sears of Cameron, David W. (Darlene) Gouldsberry of Moundsville, and Patricia L. (John) Kulavik of Cameron; a sister Phyllis (Paul) Clark of Moundsville; two brothers Harley (Gertrude) Gouldsberry and Ronald (Nancy) Gouldsberry all of Moundsville; seven grandchildren Robert J. Simmons, Samantha J. Simmons both of Cameron, Megan J. Gouldsberry of Wind Ridge, PA, Kori L. Gouldsberry of Moundsville, Johnathon D. Bopp of Proctor, Amanda K. Klug, and David P. Klug both of Cameron; a great-grandchild Griffen D. Miller of Wind Ridge; several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at Grisell Funeral Home and Crematory, 400 Jefferson Ave., Moundsville. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 1:00pm at Middle Grave Creek Church of God, RD 3, Box 309A, Moundsville, with Pastor David Sessums and Rev. James Jones officiating.
Interment in Riverview Cemetery, Moundsville, where the Moundsville Honor Guard will conduct military graveside services.

Henry, Pearl, age 87 of Palmetto, FL, formerly of Moundsville, WV died Friday, July 8, 2010.
She was born September 29, 1922 in Marshall County, WV the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Allman Van Scyoc.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ersel L. Henry; a Granddaughter; six brothers; and six sisters.
Survivors include four sons, Lewis Henry of Palmetto, Robert (Carol) Henry of Proctor, Raymond (Linda) Henry of Palmetto, and Charles Michael (Diane) Henry of Moundsville; a daughter, Mary Louise Short of Palmetto; a sister, Flossy Strosnider of Waynesburg, OH; twelve grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Avenue, Moundsville where funeral services will be held Friday at 11am with Jim Bickerton officiating.
