Harper, Mildred E. (Hartman), age 87 of Thornville, OH formerly of Woodsfield, OH passed away after a terminal illness Friday, January 27, 2012 at her daughter's home.
She was born May 30, 1924 in Sardis, OH, the daughter of the late John William and Florence May Carr Hartman.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Helen Raper, Dorothy Rist, and Susie Schmidt and two brothers, George and William "Bud" Hartman.
She was a homemaker and loving mother of seven children: 5 sons, Larry Briggs of Tennessee, Gary Briggs of Washington, Bill Briggs of Ohio, Ike Beardmore of Texas, and Randy Beardmore of Florida; two daughters, Ann Beardmore Farris of Ohio and Patricia Beardmore Rucks of Florida; a loving grandmother of 20 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; a brother, Henry Hartman of Ohio; two sisters, Emma Chick and Evelyn Brooks both of Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9pm at Grisell Funeral Home and Crematory, 37234 Mound Street, Sardis, OH where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1pm with Rev. Lee Ann Dunlap officiating.
Interment in Sardis Cemetery, Sardis, OH.
