Forni, Ila Delora, 90, went to be with her Lord and Savior Christmas morning, Sunday, December 25, 2011. She was born April 8, 1921 to Oscar and Estella (Roth) Fankhauser. After graduating Powhatan High School, she completed cosmetology school in Columbus. She traveled across the country by train to marry Earl Forni, who was in the Army Air Corps stationed in San Bernadino, CA. They were married on June 14, 1943 and from that union had five children. She was a lifelong member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Powhatan Point, OH. Ila's life was one of serving others, putting their needs ahead of hers whether it be for her family, working as a beautician, serving as a Sunday school teacher or a member of the Women's Guild. She was the ultimate multi-tasker. She could put a full meal on the table in 10 minutes while finishing a seam on a sewing project. Ila met a friend wherever she went as evidenced by the number of people who loved and respected her. She had a wonderful sense of humor and displayed it often. She was a supportive, loving, caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Forni; two sisters, Mildred Fankhauser and Frances Lehman; a brother, Willard (Bill) Fankhauser; and a granddaughter, Melissa Forni. Survivors include her five children, Nancy Alloway of Lexington, MA, David (Bonnie) Forni of New Matamoras, OH; John (Marilyn) Forni and Mark (Luann) Forni, both of Woodsfield, OH, and Jane Forni of Montrose, CO; grandchildren, Noah (Michelle) Forni, Adam (Becky) Forni, Megan Alloway, Brook Alloway, Amanda, Jacob and Joshua Forni, Kyle (Laura) Forni, Glenn (Adrienne) Forni and Aleesia Forni; great grandchildren, Aidan, Ella, Adelaide and Neela Forni. Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 3-8 p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home, 125 Clarinda Drive, Clarington. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at St. John's United Church of Christ, 51736 German Ridge Road, Powhatan Point, OH, with Rev. Carla Wobschall, Rev. Darla Schnegg and Rev. Susan Lehosky officiating. Interment in St. John's Cemetery, Powhatan Point, OH.
