Pettit, Floyd Dean, Sr., age 73 went to be with his Lord on Saturday, January 2, 2010. He died at his home on Wolf Run Road, Cameron, WV. He was born September 23, 1936 in Cameron the son of the late, Floyd R. and Beulah M. Wolfe Pettit. He graduated Cameron High School in 1954 and was a self-made man with impeccable integrity. Dean was a man with much love for his God and his family. He was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather; a member of Denver Baptist Church; and was associated with Cameron Baptist and Wolf Run Baptist Churches. He had an endearing love for music; was a member of the Cameron Baptist Choir and Opus Chorus of Moundsville; a former member of Littleton Choral in Denver, and Concert Columbia in Richland, WA. Dean was retired from Washington Group Engineering, formally Ratheon Corporation in Denver, CO, where he spent 47 years living and working in 12 different states. He was involved in many engineering construction projects for the government, space, and private industry. His undaunted ability for leadership and guidance is very evident in his past accomplishments and the legacy he left behind. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Jonathon, and two brothers, Joe and Bob. Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Marge; three sons, Dean, Jr., Karl (Sue), and Kevin (DeAn); seven grandchildren, Austin (Missy), Kia, Courtney (Devin), Torrey, Mackenzie, Jordan, and Drew; three sisters, Myrtle, Rebecca, and Doris; two sisters-in-law, Janice and Carolyn; and several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends on Friday from 4-7pm at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Avenue, Moundsville and Saturday from 10am until time of funeral service at 11am at Cameron Baptist Church, RD#5, Cameron with Rev. Ron McCoy officiating. Interment in Wolf Run Baptist Cemetery, Cameron.
