Robert Glen “Bob” Wade, 84, of Glen Dale, WV, passed away at home on December 15, 2022, following a lengthy battle with a progressive lung disease. He was born in Marshall County, WV, the son of the late Elsie (Richmond) and Wilbur H. “Bud” Wade. Bob was a graduate of Moundsville High School class of 1957 and the McKinley Trade School of Wheeling. He began his work life as a carpenter. He retired from Bayer Corporation as Superintendant of Construction, after 34 years of service. He used his carpentry skills throughout his life, and was happiest when he had a building or remodeling project underway. He was baptized at the Calvary United Methodist Church in Moundsville; was a member of the Marshall Union Lodge #8 AF & AM Masonic Lodge, the NRA, and the Sarasota Skeet and Trap Club. Bob was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He traveled with hunting companions, his son and nephews, to many states including Colorado, Idaho, Maine and Canada, to hunt large game. He enjoyed spending time on his farm on Pleasant Ridge, Cameron, hosting his hunting buddies. He and Carol spent winter months in Englewood, Florida, where Bob and a special group of friends shot sporting clays several times a week at the Sarasota Gun Club. He was the number one fan of his grandkids activities. He was preceded in death by his four siblings, Helen Cecil Kinder, Ray Cecil, Connie Wade Glover, and Roger Wade. Bob is survived by his wife of 62 years, Carol Whipkey Wade, his daughter, Rhonda Wade, J.D., and his son, Robert B. Wade, M.D. and Rob’s wife, Kelly. He was the proud grandfather to grandchildren Daryn Vucelik, Morgan Vucelik, Haley Wade and Luis Aidan Wade, step-granddaughters, Megan (Jed) Lucey, and Brittany (Jordan) Dent, and step great-granddaughters Cali, Kaylee, Charlie Grace and Korey Lucey. He was affectionately known as “Bobby” to his grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff of Amedysis Hospice for their care of Bob and support for the family. Visitation will be held Sunday from 1pm-6m at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Avenue, Moundsville where funeral services will be held Monday at 11am.
