Tributes

Strait, Betty J., age 74 formerly of Moundsville, WV passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 28, 2011, following a very long illness. She is now in the comfort and peace that Heaven offers. She was born May 17, 1936 in Moundsville, the daughter of the late John and Bertha Dalrymple Dishman. She was a homemaker and caregiver; a member of Limestone Presbyterian Church; a former member of Homemakers, and Eastern Star of Cameron. Betty was a caregiver for many people after her husband's death and brought much happiness and wonderful comfort to them. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James "Tom" Strait who she married 55 years ago on September 29, 1956; and a sister, Delores A. Martin. Survivors include her three children; Sheila (Bill) Jackson of St. Clairsville, OH, Barry Strait of Moundsville, and Shawna (John) Miller of Columbus, OH; seven grandchildren, Lynsie Booth, Ashley Jackson, Jessy Strait, Brie Miller, Cody Miller, Whitney Miller, and Carley Miller; a great-granddaughter, Averey Booth; eight brothers and sisters, James (Bib) Dishman of Greenville, PA, Fred (Betty) Dishman of Glen Dale, WV, John (Sharon) Dishman, and Ronnie Dishman, all of Cameron, Mary Garrison of Painesville, OH, Sarah (Jim) West of Tampa, FL, Phyllis Houston of Vienna, OH, and Peg (Gene) Mason of Leavittsburg, OH, and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank all who have taken care of our Mom while at Good Shepherd Nursing Home. From the Maintenance Dept., Housekeeping, Dietary, Activities, and the Medical Team of Nurse's and Aides, to the Administration; all of who always had a smile, kind words, or a wave of the hand for our mother. Words cannot express our gratitude, and if Mom could thank you, she would with her smile! Family will receive friends Thursday from 4-8pm and Friday from 11am until time of Funeral Service at 1pm at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Avenue, Moundsville with Rev. Richard Wilson officiating. Interment in Limestone Cemetery, Moundsville. Memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Nursing Home, 159 Edgington Lane, Wheeling, WV 26003.
