Taylor, Martha Lois Belt, 88, of Key, Ohio went to be with our Lord on Friday, April 9, 2010. She was born on September 6, 1921, the daughter of Benjamin Franklin Belt and Mary Keyser Belt. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Mary Jean and Ella Margaret. Martha and her late husband, E. Frazier Taylor were childhood friends blessed with an enduring marriage that began during World War II. They were preceded in death by two of their children, Jonathon and Elizabeth. Joyful in their memories of Martha’s life are her surviving family. Her survivors include son, Benjamin Frazier Taylor and wife, Jennifer: their children, Amy Taylor Sheldon, with husband, David and baby Caroline, Alyson Taylor Carrico, with husband, Frank, and Benjamin Frazier Taylor, with wife, April, and their little ones, Benjamin and Noah. Also surviving is her son Donald Herman Taylor, and his children, Nathan, with wife Misty and baby Khloe, Natalie, and Emily. Also surviving is her daughter, Mary Lucinda Taylor Hutchins with husband, Russell, and their children, Karrie, Lauren, and Aaron. Martha was a Christian and a lifelong member of both Mount Zion United Methodist Church and Belmont United Presbyterian Church. She served as organist for both congregations as well as numerous musical groups serving residents in nursing homes throughout the Ohio Valley. She served for 47 years as an exemplary teacher in the Bellaire City School system following in the footsteps of both of her parents who were educators. Martha will always be remembered as a woman who loved people and served others as a humanitarian. The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 11, 2010 from 5:00 to 8:00pm at the Grisell Funeral Home, 400-33rd Street, Bellaire, Ohio. The family will also receive friends on Monday, April 12, 2010 at the Belmont United Presbyterian Church, Route 147, Key, Ohio from 9:45am until time of service at 10:30am with Don Cordery officiating. Interment to follow in the Bethel Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Key, Ohio. Memorial Contributions may be directed toward an educational scholarship to be established in Martha Belt Taylor’s name.
