Amy Lynn Gates, age 36 of Moundsville, WV died Tuesday, August 31, 2021 in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, WV. She was born November 6, 1984 in Wheeling, WV the daughter of Dale and Sheila Shreve Rodgers of Moundsville. She was a 2003 graduate of John Marshall High School; a employee of the Human Resource Department at Wheeling Hospital, a member of Cornerstone Church of God; was great with kids; and loved her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Clark and Zelma Shreve; paternal grandparents, Harold and Lucille Rodgers; fathers-in-law, Thomas Vickers and William Gates. In addition to her parents, survivors include her husband of ten years, David J. Gates; a son, Logan Gates at home; a step-daughter, Chloe Payne; a sister, Katie (Brandon) Hercules of McMechen; special niece, Lilly Gates; special nephew, Clayton Hercules; mother-in-law, Janet Vickers of Glen Dale; three sisters-in-law, Allyson Gates of Moundsville, Dawnett (Tom) Stern of Cameron, and Amber (Handry) Martinez of MD; two brothers-in-law, Jeremy Gates and Matthew Gates; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Family will receive friends on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8pm at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Ave., Moundsville where funeral services will be held Saturday at 1pm with Rev. Ronald Wilfong officiating. MASKS WILL BE REQUIRED! Interment in Riverview Cemetery, Moundsville. Memorial contributions may be made to childrendiabetesfoundation.org.
