Barbara J. Holeczy, age 70 of Wheeling, formerly of Moundsville and St. Clairsville, passed away Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at Liza’s Place. She was born July 31, 1951 in Wheeling, WV daughter of the late John and Belva Robinson Spaar. Barbara retired from Columbian Chemical Co., with over 20 years of service. She was a former volunteer coordinator at the Prison Fellowship, for over 25 years, a volunteer at the Tiffany Dlesk Spay Neuter Clinic, for over 5 years, a greeter at Grisell Funeral Home and a longtime member at the C-3 of Wheeling. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one sister: Jo Spaar and one brother: William Spaar. Survivors include her husband, of 35 years, William D. Holeczy; one son: Matthew (Lisa) Anderson of Wintersville, OH; one daughter: Kelly Martin of Wheeling; step-son: David Holeczy of Wheeling and step-daughter: Gail (Juan) Fernandez of Scotland; 7 grandchildren: Tanner Stephens, Ashton Martin, Bryce and Trey Anderson, Hannah, Kaitlyn and Kelsey Holeczy; one sister: Jean Rader of Lufkin, TX and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5-7pm at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 1 Ridgecrest Road, Bethlehem/Wheeling where funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00am with Pastor Ted Dodd and Pastor Sam Davis officiating.
