Carolyn “Sue” Daugherty, age 81 of Moundsville, WV died Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at home. She was born August 5, 1940 in Glen Dale, WV the daughter of the late Mack Orville and Anna Laura Games McCoy. She was a member of Moundsville Baptist Church; a clerk for the former Blake’s Kiddie Korral; worked at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory for over 20 years; babysat for many children throughout the years; was a videographer for JM Girl’s Basketball; and volunteered at the Marshall County Animal Shelter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William R. “Bill” Daugherty; and a brother, Rev. Ronald McCoy. Survivors include two daughters, Lynn (William) Abraham of Paden City, WV, and Rhonda (Jack) Waters of Lexington, NC; nine grandchildren, Maria (Chris) Boyer of Fremont, Ca, Raymond, III (Amy) Yocum of Eastbend, NC, Teresa (Matt) Wooten of Thomasville, NC, Bridget (Phillip) Wake, John Michael (Elisa) Yocum, Joseph Anthony Yocum, Thomas Patrick “Tom Pat” Yocum, Francis Dominic Yocum, and Declan Yocum, all of Lexington, NC; great-grandchildren, A’ine, Rachel, Luna, Raymond, IV, Jeremiah, and Sailor; a sister-in-law, Sandra “Sandy” McCoy; several nieces and nephews; her side-kick, Allison Twigg who loved her “Nanny Sue”; and two beloved pets, Remy and Lilly. Family will receive friends on Thursday 2-4 & 6-8pm at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Avenue, Moundsville where funeral services will be held Friday at 11am with Rev. Mike Kelley officiating. Interment in Halcyon Hills Memorial Park, Sherrard. Memorial contributions may be made to Marshall County Animal Shelter, 37 Animal Shelter Rd., Moundsville, WV 26041.
