Jack Eugene Mason, age 89 of Cameron, WV died Thursday, April 04, 2019 in Richmond Place Rehabilitation and Health Center, Lexington, KY. He was born November 14, 1929 in Aleppo, PA the son of the late Willard Christopher and Mary Marjorie Antill Mason. He grew up in Greene County, PA, where he attended Rogersville High School. After his marriage in 1957 to Virginia Kay Mason, he and his family lived on Wayman’s Ridge, and later moved to Wolf Run outside of Cameron. He was a US Army Korean War Veteran; was employed with the former Marx Toy; and was a retired employee from Triangle Conduit, Glen Dale. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and was happiest when all of his widespread family was together. He will always be loved and remembered by his grandchildren and great grandchildren for organizing many Sunday afternoon Kabota rides in the woods. In addition to his parents, and wife he was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Lou Mason Mezzatesta; a brother, William Mason; a sister, Norma D. Bosworth; and a great-grandson, Wesley Jack Goddard. Survivors include a son, Ken (Charlotte) Blake of Moundsville; four daughters, Barbara Eyler of Moundsville, Lori Shakespeare of Columbia, SC, Betty L. Nettles of Lexington, SC, and Connie (Doug) Rine of Richmond, KY; eleven grandchildren, Patrick Blake, Katie (Dan) Steinheiser, Annie (John) Wilkins, Jason (Kelley) Goddard, Aaron Goddard, Tony (Heidi) Goddard, Todd Heffner, Tara Heffner, Grant (Brittany) Clark, Michael Clark, and Nick (Misty) Mason; eleven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Donna Lee Kamerer of Waynesburg, PA, Elizabeth Ball of Delmont, and Sue Wise of Fairmont, WV; and three brothers, Ralph Mason of Aleppo, Charles Mason of Waynesburg, and Larry Mason of Aleppo. Family will receive friends on Saturday from 5-8pm at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Avenue, Moundsville and Sunday from 12noon until time of funeral Service at 1pm at Wolf Run Baptist Church, Cameron with Rev. Michael Dunn officiating. Interment in Wolf Run Baptist Church Cemetery, Cameron where the Moundsville Honor Guard will conduct military graveside services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Marshall County Historical Society, where he was involved for many years.
