    John K. Chase IV

    October 27, 1953 - January 15, 2022

    John Kossuth Chase, IV passed away peacefully on January 15, 2022, at the Wheeling Continuous Care Center, Wheeling, WV. John was born on October 27, 1953, in Morgantown, WV. He graduated from John Marshall High School in 1971 and received both his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Jurisprudence (JD) from West Virginia University. John practiced law in Moundsville, WV, where he also served as Municipal Court judge; was both a member and elder of the First Presbyterian Church of Moundsville; a member of the Cockanye House Historical Restoration Committee; an avid Mountaineer fan; loved his rescue dogs; and enjoyed socializing with friends and family. He is preceded in death by his father, John K. Chase, Jr., his sister Elizabeth (Betsy) Chase, his paternal grandparents J.K. and Elinor Chase, and his maternal grandparents Donald Smith and Ann Smith. He will be lovingly missed by his mother Donna Chase of Moundsville; sisters Lori (Patrick) Tobin and Cindy (Jamie) Klein, three nieces and a nephew. Family will receive friends Friday, February 11th from 4pm to 6:30pm at Grisell Funeral Home and Crematory, 400 Jefferson Ave., Moundsville. Memorial services will be held Saturday, February 12th at 11am at the First Presbyterian Church, 1000 Third St. Moundsville with Rev. Alan Jeffries officiating. Arrangements entrusted to Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, Moundsville.
