Malissa A. Mason, age 98 of Moundsville, WV died Wednesday, April 7, 2021 in Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Wheeling, WV. She was born August 16, 1922 in Moundsville, the daughter of the late George S. “Dick” and Gretta L. Smith Howell. She was formerly employed with Sate Food Store and Marx Toy; was a Christian by faith; and a Lady Shriner. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin G. Mason in 2004; a son, Sidney Howell; a grandson, John Persinger; and two brothers, Peachy and Pete Howell. Survivors include a son Frank Mason of McMechen, WV; two daughters, Jeanette Capaldi of CA, and Marlene Persinger of Washington Lands; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends on Monday from 11am until time of funeral service at 1pm at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Ave., Moundsville with Rev. Annette Carper officiating. Interment in Halcyon Hills Memorial Park, Sherrard. Memorial contributions may be made to Shriner’s Children’s Hospital, Easter Seals, or Charity of Donor’s Choice.
