Martha Jean (Guzek) Hackathorn, age 74, of New Martinsville, WV, formerly of Moundsville, WV, died Monday, November 23, 2020 at Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, WV. She was born April 19, 1946 in Moundsville, WV, the daughter of the late Ted and Stella Koloskus Guzek. Martha was a retired nurse, having worked as the Director of Nursing at Moundview Health Care Center and later as a charge nurse with Reynolds Memorial Hospital. She was an avid reader of the bible and was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness in Paden City. Martha was a very social person with many friends and enjoyed going to all her great grandchildren’s sporting events and dance activities; she loved shopping at Boscov’s and her trips to Dairy Queen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Don Hackathorn; a sister, Janet Rutledge; a niece, Joan Mary Dobrynski; a great grandson, Michael Bryan Long; and her beloved dog, Rocky. Survivors include three daughters, Lara (Ken) Williams of Dillonvale, OH, Beth (Stanley) Geho of Glen Dale, WV and Dawn (Michael) Uhlott of Rock Hill, SC; four grandchildren, Randelyn (Bryan) Long, Logan Sawinski, Garett Geho, Marshall Uhlott, and Stella Uhlott; three great grandchildren, Jocelyn Sawinski, Jayden and Avery Long; a sister, Mary Ann Dobrynski; and nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends on Saturday from 11am until the time of the funeral service at 1pm at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 751 Third Street, New Martinsville with Mike Carter officiating.
