Ray C. Fankhauser, age 95, of Powhatan Point, OH, passed away Monday, December 28, 2020 at his home. He was born May 19, 1925 in Clarington, OH, a son of the late Clarence and Laura Nippert Fankhauser. He was retired from Wheeling Pitt Steel with 35 years of service, a lifelong farmer, and U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of St. Johns United Church of Christ, Powhatan Point and was very active in the community. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Nora Marie Bednarczyk and a brother, Melvin Fankhauser. Survivors include his wife, Lena Arman Fankhauser, four sons, Terry (Sharon) Fankhauser of Wheeling, WV, Richard (Jeannie) Fankhauser of Shadyside, OH, Henry Fankhauser of Powhatan Point, OH, and Wayne (Ronda) Fankhauser of Colerain, OH; three daughters, Edna Jane (Larry) Jarrett of Bethesda, OH, Nancy (Greg) Baumberger of Jacobsburg, OH and Dian (John) Wetzel of Powhatan Point, OH ; a brother, Dale Fankhauser of Powhatan Point, OH; 14 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and his beloved dog, Maggie. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family with military services and burial at St. Johns Church Cemetery.
