Raymond "Beffo" Leonard Starkey Sr.

Raymond “Beffo” Leonard Starkey, Sr. age 67, of New Martinsville, WV, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2022, at WVU Reynolds Memorial Hospital Glen Dale, WV. He was born March 13, 1955, in New Martinsville, WV, a son of the late Harry “Beffo” Ritchard and Mary Katherine Davis Starkey. He was a retired coal miner at Consol Energy, Harvey Mine in PA., a Methodist by faith, and a member of Moose Lodge #931 and Sons of the American Legion Post 28, both of New Martinsville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Ray L. Starkey Jr. Survivors include his wife of 19 years, Cindy CampBell Starkey; two stepdaughters, Heather Carroll of OH and Christy Fulks of Middlebourne, WV; a sister, Violet “Marie” Butcher of New Martinsville; three half-brothers, James Hartline, George Hartline and Jack Hartline; a half-sister, Aleatha Howell; several step grandchildren and great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, including A.C. (Larry) Wade and David R. (Randie) Glendening and three special great nieces, Shyana Glendening, Britney Wade and Breanna Wade. Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory 751 Third St. New Martinsville, WV, where services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 am with Rev. Stephen Rector officiating. Interment will follow in Craigs Chapel Cemetery New Martinsville, WV.
