Robert W. Fletcher Sr., age 68, of Sardis, OH, passed away Monday, April 13, 2020 in Wetzel County Hospital New Martinsville, WV. He was born June 20, 1951 in Bellaire, OH, a son of the late Walter Simon and Beulah Mae Bennington Fletcher. He was a self-employed contractor, a retired coal miner, a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran, a member of St. Sylvester Catholic Church Woodsfield, OH, and VFW Post #9930 of Duffy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Riggenbach Fletcher; a granddaughter, Emma Fletcher and brother, Phillip Fletcher. Survivors include two sons, Robert Fletcher Jr. and Michael (Elizabeth) Fletcher; a daughter, Kari Fletcher, all of Sardis, OH; three brothers, Donald (Mary) Fletcher of Barnesville, OH, Dennis (Sharon) Fletcher of Glencoe, OH and Dan Lightcap of Indiana, PA; three grandchildren, Jazmine Babcock, Nathaniel Fletcher and Cale Heddleson. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. The family knows there are many friends and relatives who would like to pay their respects, and apologize that the current situation mandates the services be limited to the immediate family only.
