Roger Carl Suter, 79 of Friendly, WV passed away Friday, November 5, 2021 in WVU-Camden-Clark Medical Center, Parkersburg, WV. He was born January 17, 1942 in New Martinsville, WV, the son of the late Edna Stackhouse and Carl L. Suter. Roger is retired from Bayer Chemical Company, and served in the US Army. He earned his Associate of Applied Science degrees from Fairmont State College and West Virginia Northern Community College, where he was a member of Phi Theta Kappa. He also earned his B.S. and M.S. degrees from Salem University, and his PhD from Southwest University in Industrial Management. He is a certified aircraft and helicopter pilot, as well as a flight instructor and aircraft mechanic; he was a member of the VFW Post 6327 and their Blue Blazer Honor Guard; a member of American Legion Post 67; Forty and Eight of Parkersburg, WV; a member and past officer of WV Elks Lodge No. 333; a member of Moose Lodge #931, EAA and AOPA flying organizations, National Rifle Assn.; and was a licensed Amateur Radio Operator, KA8SKF. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Jean Flockerzi Suter; and a sister, Yvonne “Bonnie” Covert. Survivors include his companion of 18 years, Linda Sue Stone of Friendly, WV, a son, Gregory Allen Suter of New Martinsville; two daughters, Tammy Diane (Cranston) Christopher of Spring, TX, and Kelly Jo Suter, of San Antonio, TX; a sister, Shirley Smith of New Martinsville; a brother, Richard Nile Suter of Barnesville, OH; three grandsons; Tyler Nicholas and Justin Michael Suter of New Martinsville, and Cranston Christian Christopher III, of Spring, TX. Family will receive friends on Friday from 11am until time of Funeral Service at 1pm at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 751 -3rd St., New Martinsville with Pastor Bill Stokes officiating. Interment in Northview Cemetery, New Martinsville with military honors. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the VFW Post 6327, Sistersville, WV.
