Shirley V. Barte, age 97, of Wheeling, passed away Friday, April 3, 2020 at home. She was born December 30, 1922 in Tiltonsville, OH daughter of the late Richard and Mildred West Ritchie. Shirley was the bus coordinator for the Happy Hilltoppers. She enjoyed spending time traveling and having fun with her family and friends. She was a member of the Thursday Music Club, the Bethlehem Presbyterian Church and a charter Member of the local AARP. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband: Thomas Winsky; second husband: Jim Barte; two daughters: Delores (Robert) McAninch and Janet (Kenny) Cavicchia; six brothers and sisters, and a grandson: Tony Cavicchia. Survivors include four children: Jamie McAninch of Wheeling, Robert (Sheri) McAninch of Bellaire, OH, Christine (Jeff) Herink of Bridgeport, OH and Susan McAninch, who was her devoted and loving caregiver with whom she resided; eight great grandchildren: Sarah, Andrew, Elizabeth and Rachel McAninch, Jessamine Schmidt and Zachary, Matthew and Kevin Herink; one sister: Midge (Jack) Fisher of Dania, FL; one brother: James Ritchie of Summerfield, FL and numerous nieces and nephews including her special niece: Shirley “Jody” Spar of Tuscon, AZ. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements entrusted to Grisell Funeral Home and Crematory, 1 Ridgecrest Road, Bethlehem/Wheeling, WV.
