Thomas Daniel Harker

August 30, 1944 - June 14, 2022

Thomas Daniel Harker, age 77 of Moundsville, WV died Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at home. He was born August 30, 1944 in Marion County, WV the son of the late Harry and Minnie Merrifield Harker. He was a US Army Vietnam Veteran; a retired coal miner from Consol Coal Mine and a member of the VFW in Mannington, WV and Limestone Presbyterian Church. Thomas enjoyed woodworking and loved his dogs. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Martha Hartley and Sally Wright; two brothers, Leonard and William Harker; two sisters in laws, Joanne and Mary Ellen Harker, and a brother-in-law, James Hartley. Survivors include four daughters, Yvonne Marie Harker, Daphne Sue Friend both of Morgantown, Patricia Charlene (Donald) Mackey, and Tamara Kay (Jeremy) Cochran all of Moundsville; two sons, Thomas Daniel, Jr. (Beth Ann) Harker of St. Clairsville and Timothy DeWayne (Jeannie) Harker of Cameron; 20 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; a bonus daughter and son, Mark and Misty Wilson; a brother, Ernest (Linda) Harker of Wadestown; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank two special nurses, Etta Brand and Cheryl Holmes and all the employees of Amedysis Hospice for their wonderful care. Family will receive friends on Thursday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Avenue, Moundsville where funeral services will be held Friday at 1pm. Interment in Limestone Cemetery, Moundsville with the Moundsville Honor Guard conducting military graveside services.
