    William Dale Moore

    March 31, 1951 - March 22, 2022

    William Dale Moore, age 70, of New Martinsville, WV, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, in New Martinsville, WV. Bill was born on March 31, 1951, in St. Mary’s WV to Thelma (Lucas) Moore and the late Carl E. Moore. Bill was preceded in death by two sisters, Linda Moore, and Rosie Moore; one brother Thomas Moore; and a special grandson Sawyer Evans. Celebrating him in life are his wife, Cindy (Simmons) Moore; mother, Thelma (Lucas) Moore; three children, Daniel (Mary) Moore, Shane (Sarah) Moore and Julie (Logan) Mace; seven grandchildren, Madison Moore, Hayden Moore, Irelan Moore, Evan Mace, Rome Mace, Matilda Moore, and Clark Moore; two sisters, Leslie (Clyde) Little and Carla Moore; brother Ronnie (Valerie) Moore; several nieces and nephews. Bill graduated from St Mary’s High School in 1970 and became a second-generation ironworker, remaining a proud member of Ironworker’s Local #549 his entire life. He was an active Scout leader, Moose lodge member and supporter of St Vincent De Paul Relay for Life team. Bill spent some of his favorite days hunting and fishing alongside the Shepherd family at Windy Ridge deer camp in Wick, WV. When at home, Bill was an avid bird watcher and gardener, ensuring both the family and the local rabbits got fresh beans and tomatoes each season. Family will receive friends on Friday, March 25, from 4-8 pm at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 751 Third Street, New Martinsville with a wake service and rosary at 7:30 pm. A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, March 26 at 10 am at St Vincent De Paul Parish. with Mngr. Kevin Quirk officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St Vincent De Paul Relay for Life team.
