Fox, Catherine Elizabeth, age 96, formerly of Roberts Ridge, Moundsville, WV died peacefully Tuesday, August 4, 2009 in Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Wheeling, WV. She was born April 2, 1913 in St. Joseph Settlement, Proctor, WV the daughter of the late, Leonard and Adda Shutler Frohnapfel. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother; and enjoyed, reading, quilting, and gardening. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Hubert V. Fox; a son, Bill Fox, a great-grandson, Owen J. Smith; a brother, Melvin Frohnapfel; and a sister, Marie Yeager. Survivors include three daughters, Betty (Bryant) Persinger of Moundsville, Dorothy (Tom) Argenta of Columbus, OH, and Karen (Cephas) Evans of Charleston, WV; a son, John (Susie) Fox of Charleston; a daughter-in-law, Janice Fox of Moundsville; a sister, Sister Roberta Frohnapfel of Buckhannon, WV; a sister-in-law, Gwen Frohnapfel of Proctor; seventeen grandchildren, Joan (Tom) Kress of WI, Christi (Brett) Preston, Cindy (Jack) Hamilton, John (Dana) Fox, Karen Fox, Rebecca Steele, all of Charleston, Laura Steele of CO, William Argenta of NJ, Paul (Sara) Argenta of Cincinnati, OH, Michelle (Sean) Callahan of St. Clairsville, OH, Ann (Gerald) Miller, Linda (Jim) Smith, Brad (Kathy) Fox, Suzanne Steele, Michael Persinger, Beth (Brian) Blake, and Janet (John) Hunnell, all of Moundsville; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their sincere thanks and gratitude for the many years of outstanding love and care that she received by the administrator, staff and clergy at The Home of the Good Shepherd. Family will receive friends on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-9pm at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Avenue, Moundsville with Rosary Devotions at 6:30pm. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Friday at 10am at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 610 Jefferson Avenue, Moundsville with Fr. Terrance Adams as celebrant. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Proctor. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis Xavier Church Renovation.
