Linda Sue Wade O’Neil, age 73, of New Martinsville, WV, passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Wheeling Hospital in Wheeling, WV. She was born on March 24, 1953, in Wetzel County, WV, a daughter of the late Lewis Franklin Wade and Dora Mae Cecil Wade. Linda was a retired cook who prepared delicious food at many restaurants in the area including Elby’s, Pizza Hut, Quinet’s Court Restaurant, and the Golden Corral. She was a Methodist by faith. She enjoyed painting, gardening, cooking, crocheting, sewing, doing arts and crafts, watching wildlife, and spending time with her beloved grandkids. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Lee O’Neil; loving partner, Charles Herbert Johnson; sister, Patricia (Gary) Henderson; and infant great-granddaughter, Peyton Louise Wood. She is survived by one son, William (Liz Hall) O’Neil of Proctor, WV; two daughters, Peggy Susann (Clyde Bert) Snider of New Martinsville, WV, and Jennifer Rose (Michael) Wince of St. Mary’s, WV; eleven grandchildren, Billy (Keri) O’Neil, Alexis Smith, Kristen (Michael) Hornbeck, Kimberly O’Neil, Nicole Sovil, Michael Smith, Rachel Snider, Christopher Wince, Amber (Zach) Knight, Delmara Cavanaugh, and Matthew Snider; sixteen great-grandchildren, Mary Ann Corwin, Oaklynn Knight, Aurora Knight, Hannah Clark, Ariana Clark, Caroline Smith, Bryhar O’Neil, Reggie O’Neil, Karson O’Neil, Keaton Hornbeck, Ellie Hornbeck, Kennedy Hornbeck, Braydon Yoho, Adley Snider, Scotland Cavanaugh, and Amelia Cavanaugh; two sisters, Sharon (Raymond) Stoneking of New Martinsville, WV, and Harriet Edne Wade of Paden City, WV; two brothers, Lewis Franklin Wade Jr. of New Martinsville, WV, and Willis Troy (Brenda) Wade of New Martinsville, WV; several nieces and nephews, and many more beloved extended family members. (The family does ask forgiveness if any names were left out.) Family will receive friends on Friday July 24, 2026 from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 751 3rd Street, New Martinsville, WV with Pastor Greg Keith officiating.
