Vinaben Patel also known as Vani Devi Dasi, servant of Krishna, age 68 passed away August 31, 2026 at her home. She was born in a small village in India, she was the youngest of four. A little foreshadowing, she was the baby in the family and pampered by her parents … She grew up with little but made the most of it, which she had a knack of making the best out of any situation. She loved her family deeply. She made the trek to Canada with her husband Ramesh Patel (Rupanuga). At first disliking the food, the way things tasted, not knowing the language or people and worked a factory job before meeting the devotees. She put herself under Krishna’s mercy and moved to New Vrindaban where she joined an incredible community full of friends. She found a full life here with working in the jewelry shop, going on Sankirtan, working in the snack bar, running the temple gift shop, dressing the deities, and raising a family. She is survived by her husband Ramesh Patel (Rupanuga) whom she loved dearly and shared a life full of adventure with. She was a kind, caring and understanding partner. She is survived by her children Kevala, Syamasundara, and Rupavilas, whom she loved and cared for second most deeply after her youngest Radhika Patel who she pampered just like she was. Vani was the perfect mother, and always wanted and provided the best for her children. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kavi, Kian, Purnima, Vamsi, Ishan, and Kush whom she loved profoundly. They were an immense source of comfort and happiness for her and they were all so fortunate to have met her. She was the purest devotee, the kindest soul and met everyone with understanding and a gentle, warm nature. She has touched so many people’s lives and hearts. She was immensely strong when she needed to be and could do unimaginable things through sheer force of will. She was so so selfless and giving with her energy, her service, her heart, and her positivity. She was wise beyond her years, and gave guidance with a gentle and empathetic hand. She loved a good joke and loved to laugh. She was diligent with her service to Krishna and an exemplary servant of the Lord. She lived a full life filled with friends, family, service, adventure and surrounded by love. The world is a little darker without her glowing presence. May her soul be guided to Krishna’s eternal loving embrace. The family would like to thank the members of the community for being there for her throughout her life.
