Westfall, Doris Imogene Morgan, 83, of Virginia Street, New Martinsville, and most recently New Martinsville Care and Rehabilitation, died Tuesday, January 25, 2011 in Wheeling Hospital. She was born April 2, 1927 in Wetzel County, the daughter of the late Hamen T. and Amanda (Buchanan) Morgan of State Route 7. She was a 1945 graduate of Magnolia High School. She was a homemaker who instilled in her five living children how to enjoy life – which she did to the fullest. Doris loved to bowl, particularly enjoying the Match Play event at Bruce Bowling Lanes, which she won several times. She was inducted into the Women's Bowling Hall of Fame in 2005. Bruce Lanes annually awards the Doris Westfall Performance Award given to the highest ranked woman on the point list. She also enjoyed fishing, golfing, camping, traveling, pitching horseshoes and quilting. Doris loved a good bargain and could often be found at yard sales and auctions, not to mention selling her wares at local flea markets. She was affectionately known as "The CorningWare Lady" as she specialized in selling CorningWare she won at dime pitches. She also loved to bake and cook, which won her numerous awards and contests. She was very active in the First Church of God in New Martinsville where she particularly liked making apple butter and Easter eggs. She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her husband of 64 years, Raymond W. Westfall in 2009; an infant daughter, Nancy Lea; a sister, Freda Lemasters; and two brothers, Lee Wayne and Allen Morgan. She is survived by a son, Daniel Westfall and wife Cathy of New Martinsville; four daughters, Karen Lancaster and husband Gary of Alvy, WV, Wilma Westfall and fiancé Tom McGlumphy of Folsom, WV, Betsy Westfall of New Martinsville, and Amy Witschey and husband Daniel of New Martinsville; five grandchildren, Randy Lancaster and wife Pam of Middlebourne, Jeff Lancaster and wife Chandra of Middlebourne, Vicki Sealey and husband Roger of Morgantown, W Va., Amy Holliday of Shinnston, and Joellen Witschey of New Martinsville; eight great grandchildren, Jessica Sealey and Johnathan, Jeremiah, Samuel, Nathaniel, Emily, Jacob, and Aiden Lancaster; a brother, Rodger Morgan and wife Bonita of Campbell, Ohio; a sister-in-law, Audrey Morgan of Mogadore, Ohio; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and –nephews, and a loving church family. Family will receive friends on Thursday from 4 to 9 p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 751 Third Street, New Martinsville. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. at the First Church of God, 255 Russell Avenue, New Martinsville, with Pastor Russ Whitener officiating.
